Creamfields outgrows Villaricos
Creamfields has outgrown Villaricos and will be staged in El Ejido in 2008. The electronic music festival has been held in Villaricos for the last four summers, the most recent event attracting around 40,000 people. But the organisers, Sinnamon, are keen for the event to grow further. Cuevas del Almanzora Mayor, Jesús Caicedo, said greater numbers would collapse the area’s services and accesses and suggested Las Salinas in Roquetas de Mar as an alternative venue to keep Creamfields in the province. However, just as the agreement between Sinnamon and Roquetas de Mar seemed to be in the bag, it was announced that El Ejido’s Guardias Viejas venue of more than 100,000sqms, which for the last two years has hosted the Natural Music Festival, had been chosen instead.
