SPIES IN LISBON

The British Home Secretary, Jack Straw, was in Lisbon last week for the EU interior ministers reunion, at the ancient FIL space (Feira Internacional de Lisboa). The British minister was the star of the meeting because his visit coincided with the decison to free the ancient dictator Pinochet to return to Chile .

But Jack Straw has now to solve the case of David Shayler, the renegade spy from the British Secret Services, MI5, who is exiled in France because he can be arrested as soon as he arrives in the U.K.

Among British journalists there's a certain bad feeling, because the Official Secrets Act forbids them from revealing the names of David Watson and Richard Bartlitt, alleged secret agents PT-16B and PT16 from MI6, and presumably the ones responsible for the murder attempt on the Libyan leader Gadafy, a fact linked with the revelations of David Shayler in Paris. Here is the record of those names, mentioned in Lisbon, in order that our British colleagues might keep on with their mission to inform in Democracy.
